Hard to make the tea cups
Rachel Phung Farrell

I'm very disappointed in this item. I wanted to make chocolate tea cups for my daughter's birthday tea party. I initially tried filling each half of the molds with chocolate and figured I was attach them when they harden. This didn't work because it left too much of a gap. I then cut along the lines and attached the two halves together. I soon realized that the dots on the plastic did not line up and caused the two halves of the cups to be slightly off. I again had to modify it and cut the dots away. This made it even more difficult as chocolate was coming out and there was no good way of keeping it from doing that. I found an instructional video on chocolate bunnies and decided to use that concept. I cut away the top of the cup and attached the two halves together. Filled it with chocolate and let it set for a bit then pour the extra chocolate out. This sort of worked, but chocolate was still getting out. The two plastic halves do not come together perfectly. This will only work if you need half a cup. I have yet to make a perfect cup.

I tried to make this mold work but maybe it was not to be. The use of chocolate was not my intention but to use water and make an ice saucer and use a shot ice mold for prawns. There are a few more ideas up my sleeve; I have a few months to experiment with this mold. The teacup mold is useless; it does not work no matter what I try.
